Tanjung Bungah Lanslide: The Body Of Seventh Victim Recovered On Sunday Morning
GEORGE TOWN, Oct 22 – The body of the seventh victim was found from the scene which was hit by the landslide shortly after 8am yesterday. State secretary YB. Dato’ Seri Farizan Bin Darus confirmed the seventh victim were found at 9:50am today, whose nationality has yet to be determined, and only four remained buried under the laterite site.
Meanwhile, northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar said they are looking for three victims who survived yesterday’s landslide with injuries, to assist in investigations. They are Gearsudin Sadul Haq from Myanmar, Mohamad Josim Rahman from Bangladesh and another man, whose identity is yet to be determined.
Over 220 personnel from the police, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defense Force, Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Smart) Putrajaya, Rela and medical teams are involved in the search for four more people buried in the landslide. — PN
