Petrol Hits New High In Fourth Consecutive Hike Across The Board



PETALING JAYA,  Nov 8 – The new retail price for petrol RON95, RON97 and diesel will go up between six to seven sen per litre effective midnight, the highest level since the introduction of the weekly fuel price system. The new prices will come into effect on Thursday until Nov 15. The new price after Goods and Services Tax (GST), the retail price of petrol is as follows:

  • RON95 : From RM 2.24/liter to RM 2.31/liter ( 7 sen)
  • RON97 : From RM 2.54/liter to RM 2.60/liter ( 6 sen)
  • DIESEL : From RM 2.17/liter to RM 2.20/liter ( 3 sen)

This was announced on the domestic trade, cooperatives and consumerism ministry’s Twitter account and website on Wednesday evening. The weekly fuel pricing mechanism came into effect on March 29 this year. Prices of petrol and diesel were placed on a managed monthly float system since Dec 1, 2014, following the removal of fuel subsidies. — PN
