KUCHING, Feb 6 – The Sarawak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department will dispose of 899.62g of drugs worth RM137,662.20 tomorrow. Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters, Management Department chief SAC Datuk Zamani Tan Sri Hamdan Sirat said the process would be carried out at the Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park (KIWMP) in Kampung Mambong, Padawan.
The drugs consisting of syabu, cannabis, ketamine, ecstasy pills, erimin 5 and nospen pills were from seizures made between 2008 and 2016 in Kuching, Sri Aman, Kota Samarahan, Betong, Mukah and Kapit, he told a press conference here today.
Zamani urged the public to join hands with the authorities in curbing the drug menace by providing any relevant information they have to the Narcotics CID. Meanwhile, he said the Narcotics CID last year foiled attempts by two syndicates to smuggle drugs worth more than RM3 million across the border, and five attempts so far, this year. — Bernama
