Couple, Baby Scalded In House Fire
KOTA KINABALU, Feb 12 – A couple and their 11-month-old daughter were scalded in a fire which destroyed their house in Kampung Mempias, Jalan Sinua, about 80km from Keningau town last night.
The victims were identified as Yesmin Jubilik, 26, who was scalded on the leg, his wife, Petronella Jems, 38, whose limbs were scalded, and their baby, Elisa Wanda, who sustained burns on the face. Yesmin’s parents and a younger brother, who were also in the house, managed to get out in time and were not injured.
According to a spokesman at the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department’s operations centre, the station received a distress call at 8.27pm and by the time the firemen arrived, the house was completely razed. The fire was completely doused at 10.40pm. — Bernama
