Penang Umno Youth Lodge Police Report Against Guan Eng
GEORGE TOWN, Mar 9 – Penang Umno Youth lodged a police report against Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today for linking the party and Barisan Nasional in a “baseless” accusations over an allegations involving the proposed RM6.3 billion undersea tunnel project.
The report was lodged by state Umno Youth deputy chief Jasmin Nordin at the northeast district police headquarters here this afternoon. He said the report was based on Lim’s press conference on Feb 28 where Lim had made hurl baseless accusations against Umno and also make allegations that Umno leaders are corrupt.
The recording of the press conference was available on Lim’s Facebook page and Youtube. The tunnel project had raised numerous controversies in recent months, especially on the high cost of the RM305 million feasibility studies as well as the 22-month delay in completing it. To date, five people, including two Datuk Seri, two Datuk and a female engineering consultant had been detained to assist in investigation. — PN
