Ministry Issues Warning Letter To School Over Flying Blade Incident



SEREMBAN, Apr 22 – The Education Ministry has issued a warning letter to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Gemas for negligence following the death of a girl due to a flying blade from a lawnmower.

Negri Sembilan Education Department director Pkharuddin Ghazali said the letter was issued last month as the school had allowed two activities to run simultaneously at its field, namely the sports day rehearsal and grass cutting.

“The Takaful compensation of RM5,500 was presented to the victim’s family on Feb 23,” he told Bernama after launching an event held in conjunction with the 2018 Teacher’s Day celebration here today.

The incident which occurred at 10.30am on Feb 13 killed Nur Afini Roslan, 14, and injured Mohd Farhan Reza Badrol Hesam, 13, and Abdullah Hazlan, 14. — Bernama
