KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 – Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu is alleged to have defamed the prime minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor during a ceramah (talk) in Pagoh, Johor on April 19.
The president of Pertubuhan Pembangunan Transformasi Anak Muda Malaysia (Youth Nation) Akmal Hashim said the words uttered by the opposition party president was defamatory in nature and instigated the people. Mohamad Sabu also had shared false news.
“We have taken a stand not to support this and deplore any political party that resorted to hate speech during the election campaign period. We urge all parties to refrain from using politics of hatred to win votes from Malaysians,” he said to reporters after making a police report at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters here against the opposition leader. — Bernama
