KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 – President and CEO of 1MDB Arul Kanda Kandasamy ticked off those in the opposition who did not turn up for the ‘Tanya Tanya’ question-and-answer roadshow, despite being invited.
He said “information sessions’ that provided information on the company were held at 31 locations, but the opposition which often twisted the facts about the 1MDB issue was nowhere to be seen during any of the roadshows.
“I’m sad and disappointed … I invited them but no one came. Today is the final day of the roadshow, yet there is no one who dares to come and listen to us. It gives me the impression that it is not that the opposition does not know, it is more like that they do not want to know.
“It’s not that they don’t understand, but they do not want to understand,” he said at tonight’s event. Meanwhile, when asked of 1MDB’s fate if the opposition won the 14th General Election (GE14), Arul Kanda said he could not imagine what was to become of the situation.
However, as a voter, he said that he was confident and pleased with the policies, achievements and the future plans of the Barisan Nasional (BN) government. “What is important to the people is to see that the party has a strong track record in practising mature and prudent policies and politics,” he said. — Bernama
