GEORGE TOWN, May 10 – The date for the swearing-in of the new chief minister of Penang following the general election yesterday will be announced on Saturday at the latest. State Secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus said a date had not been set yet for the swearing-in of the chief minister and the formation of the state government. He said the date will be announced by the Office of the Chief Minister.
It is learned that the date of the swearing-in had yet to be set as several state leaders, including DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow, were in the federal capital with other Pakatan Harapan leaders to attend functions associated with the setting up of the federal government. Pakatan Harapan won 37 of the 40 seats in the Penang legislative assembly in the general election yesterday. — Bernama
