KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 – After a surprise election victory, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad declared he would sworn in as prime minister today but Istana Negara spokesperson said the swearing-in ceremony will not be held today.

“I have no confirmation when it will be held, whether tomorrow or next week. Once we have any updates, we will notify the media,” the spokesperson said.

Despite television stations advertising a live broadcast of the swearing-in at 9.30am, roads leading to the  entrance to Istana Negara were blocked by police. The police said the government has not been formed, there is nothing happening here. — PN
