KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 – A non-governmental organisation, Kembara Kitchen Selangor distributed 35 food packages of a vegetarian meal consisting of fried rice and tofu to the media practitioners who have been ‘camping’ near the private residence of Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in Jalan Langgak Duta here at 7pm, twenty minutes before the breaking of fast for Muslims.

Its founder William Cheah,45, said the distribution was to appreciate the services of the media practitioners as he knew they were staking out the area round the clock and it was also the Muslim holy month.

“You are our eyes and ears, working under the heat and rain just to provide the latest news to us. This is all that we can do to appreciate your services, you are the real hero. It is also the fasting month and I understand that you all cannot just leave your posts, so this is something from us,” he told reporters here today, adding that the contribution was not much compared to the work the press corp was undertaking.
