KUALA LUMPUR, Jul 15 – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s health is not a problem for him to contest for PKR presidential post in the coming party elections. Lembah Pantai MP Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil said the PKR de facto leader was currently recovering from a surgery in Turkey.

“His health condition is not a problem … he is now recovering, and being monitored by doctors,” he told reporters at an Aidilfitri open house at Lucky Garden, Bangsar here yesterday.

Ahmad Fahmi said he supported the proposal by deputy Youth chief Dr Afif Bahardin that Anwar should contest for the presidential position in the party elections which would serve as preparation for him to return to the Parliament and subsequently become the eighth Prime Minister. — Bernama
