PKR Election: Nurul Izzah To Defend Vice-President’s Post



PETALING JAYA, Aug 5 – PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar today submitted her nomination to defend her post at the party election this September. The nomination form was submitted by her representative, PKR Communication director Fahmi Fadzil at about 2.30pm.

According to Fahmi, Nurul Izzah, who is Permatang Pauh Member of Parliament was not able to submit the nomination form herself as she was in her constituency. As of noon today, two candidates had submitted their forms for the vice-president post. They are Selayang Member of Parliament William Leong and former Subang Jaya Municipal Council member Michael Tamil.

Meanwhile, Fahmi and Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Rashid Hasnon are among party members who have offered to contest for seats in the Central Leadership Council (MPP). They submitted the nomination forms at about 2.30pm today.

Bandar Tun Razak Member of Parliament Kamaruddin Jaafar has also submitted his nomination to contest for a place in the 20-seat MPP. The party’s Central Election Committee secretary, Ismail Yusof said until noon today, the committee had received 22 nomination forms for seats in MPP. — Bernama
