KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 – With over 1,200 merchants offering products and services in more than 20 categories – and some 600 ready to ship orders overseas — you won’t want to miss #MYCYBERSALE 2018 from Sept 3-7. The regional and international brands taking part in this online sale event include Lazada, Shopee, Shopback, 28Mall, Malaysia Airlines Bhd, Qoo10, Hermo, Shopback, Coca Cola, Mead Johnson and Unilever.
At the launch today (28 August 2018), the National ICT Association of Malaysia (Pikom) chairman, Ganesh Kumar Bangah, said merchants have lined up attractive deals and items at hugely discounted prices for consumers to take advantage of during #MYCYBERSALE 2018. He also said that from this year onwards, #MYCYBERSALE – now in its fifth year – will be held annually between National Day and Malaysia Day.
“This is the time to grab fantastic travel deals, your favourite tech gadgets, shop for festive holiday gifts and year-end parties. This is the second year that Pikom is helming #MYCYBERSALE and I am confident it is on the road to becoming a fully self-sustainable event as more than 62 per cent of the event this year is funded by the private sector,” said Ganesh.
“Initiated by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in 2014, we are pleased to continue to support #MYCYBERSALE, which is helping more local small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) take their rightful place in the burgeoning ecommerce arena and place Malaysia as a regional ecommerce powerhouse,” said MDEC Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Yasmin Mahmood.
According to Ganesh, #MYCYBERSALE 2018 has the potential to reach over 13.9 million online shoppers in Malaysia and the targeted RM370 million in gross merchandise value (GMV) for the event will be surpassed. So mark the date in your diary, as at the stroke of midnight on Sept 3, consumers can start grabbing deals at www.mycybersale.my. — Bernama
