In conjunction with World Food Day which takes place on 16 October 2019, everyone can enjoy our favourite IKEA meatballs while doing good for the community. From 14 – 20 October 2019, IKEA will be donating RM2 to Hope Worldwide Malaysia for every set of 16 pieces of Swedish meatballs and a mushroom soup sold. To encourage more people to participate in doing good together, the meatball and soup set will be available for only RM18.90 (Normal Price: RM20.70).

Through this initiative, IKEA hopes to inspire and enable people to live a better everyday life that is sustainable, healthy and is within the means of the many people. This aligns closely with the theme of this year’s World Food Day, which calls for action across sectors to make healthy and sustainable diets affordable and accessible to everyone.

Gerard Jansen, Deputy Retail Director of IKEA Southeast Asia said, “Our vision of creating a better everyday life is not limited to home furnishing. It is all-encompassing and puts people and the planet at its centre. We hope to do our bit for people in vulnerable communities while enabling access to nutritionally balanced food. This campaign allows us to empower our customers so that they too can co-create a world where food is accessible and sustainable.”

Held annually on 16 October, World Food Day promotes worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure healthy diets for all.1
