The Launch Of “Youth For Future” By Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and State Exco for Youth and Sports, Soon Lip Chee.

GEORGE TOWN – Chief Minister YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow and Exco for Youth and Sports Penang, YB Tuan Soon Lip Chee launched the initiative of “Youth For Future” at Hotel Royal Chulan Penang on 23 November 2019. The initiative “Youth For Future” aims to develop the growth of the youth in Penang to prepare them well to face challenges in the future. It also serves as an initiative to help them to realize their potential to contribute to our country, Malaysia.

Through “Youth For Future” by the Exco for Youth and Sports Penang, it will help the youth in Penang to shape their leadership and psychology and emotional control. Aside from this, it will also help to provide more job opportunities, opportunities to further studies and entrepreneurship for the youth.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said that it is still not late for the youth to set their direction or ambition after the completion of their tertiary studies now. “Amidst the current Industrial Revolution, we must invest in the youth power of Penang,” Chow said during his speech in the launching ceremony of Youth For Future”.

“In universities, knowledge and skills may be the key to success but the reality is that knowledge, moral values ​​and skills are all vital in promoting self-development for the benefit of the community and nation,” he added.

Chow also congratulated state Exco for Youth and Sports for the initiative of “Youth For Future”. Penang State Exco for Youth and Sports, Soon Lip Chee urged all parties to work hand in hand with the state government in helping to develop the youth in Penang.

“With Youth For Future, we encourage the participation of the youth in social activities and social development to increase their awareness towards the social issues,” he added.

Soon also added that three main perspectives will be focused through this initiative. The three focuses included the focus on youth self-development, the focus on the social aspect and the focus on the economic aspect.

This initiative was launched in conjunction with Majlis Perundingan Mahasiswa 2019: Halatuju dan Cabaran Mahasiswa held by the office of Exco for Youth and Sports Penang in collaboration with Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC). During the event, Jocelyn Lee performed the theme song of “Youth For Future” entitled ‘Melangkah’, which means ‘Moving Forward’ as well.

Also present were General Manager of Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) Thoy Siew Ping, panelists Dr Moktaruddin Ahmad, Christinna Kuan, Clement Chau, Yeap Siew Ching, and state assemblymen YB Daniel Gooi, YB Lee Khai Loon, YB Khaliq Mehtab.
