BATU KAWAN, March 19 – UWC Holdings Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of UWC Berhad, an integrated engineering support services provider, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Manipal International University to develop and nurture engineering students. 

The signee representing Manipal International University is Prof. Dr. Patrick Kee, Vice-Chancellor, and representing UWC Berhad is Dato’ Ng Chai Eng, Executive Director. The historic agreement is witnessed by YB Soon Lip Chee, Penang State Exco for Youth and Sports cum PYDC Board Chairman, and Prof. Dr. Edwin Chung, Dean of School of Engineering and Computing, Manipal International University.

UWC Executive Director & Group CEO Dato’ Ng Chai Eng said, “The signing of the MOU signifies UWC commitment in promoting the UNSDG goal 4 Quality Education to close the gap between the industry and tertiary education institution.

We are pleased to work with Manipal International University for talent development. We hope to continue our effort in growing local talent and encourage STEM education among Malaysians. With the MOU, we look forward to our future collaboration in TVET with Manipal International University.”

Manipal International University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Patrick Kee said, “A vibrant industry is the backbone of a strong economy, and you cannot have a vibrant industry without a supportive ecosystem which include the supply of talent with the right fit for the industry.  

This UWC-MIU collaboration is part of an effort to ensure graduates are equipped with the right skillset to not only support the industry but also to be relevant and employable.”
