GEORGE TOWN, March 22 – The Penang Government acknowledges the issues brought up by the Pertubuhan Penternak Khinzir Negeri Pulau Pinang concerning pig farm operators who have failed to upgrade their respective pig farms to the closed-system.
The state government is very concerned about the matter. Penang Welfare and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh and state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee have been assigned to visit the related pig farms and find ways to rectify the problems faced by the pig farm operators.
We will assist the pig farm operators in whatever way that we could to upgrade their farms to a modern system as modern livestock farming is the direction that the state government is heading towards to ensure its sustainability.
