PUTRAJAYA, May 2 – In line with the official announcement of Hari Raya Aidifitri for 2022 by the Keeper of the Great Seal of the Rulers that 1 Syawal 1443H, Hari Raya Aidilfitri of 2022 falls on Monday, 2 May 2022, then the Labor Day Holiday will automatically be carried over to Wednesday, 4 May 2022.
This is in line with the provisions of Section 3, Holidays Act 1951 [Act 369], Holidays Ordinance (Sabah Cap. 56) and Public Holidays Ordinance (Sarawak Cap. 8). This automatic Labor Day Holiday replacement does not apply to the States of Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Johor because Labor Day falls on a Sunday which is a working day in those states.
However, it is subject to the decision of the respective State Authorities to make any announcements regarding the leave. Happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all the beloved Malaysian Family.
