GEORGE TOWN, June 10 – It is informed that the Penang State Government under the MMK Youth and Sports Committee and the Penang State Sports Council will work with the Penang Football Association (FAP) to organize the Under 14 Football Championship in conjunction with the Penang Community Olympic Carnival 2022 on 19 June 2022 (Sunday), from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at Padang Universiti Sains Malaysia.
This tournament is one of the programs under the Penang Community Olympic Carnival 2022 which takes place from May 15 to June 23, 2022 in conjunction with the World Olympic Day celebration. The tournament aims to focus on the development of football at the grassroots level in the state of Penang.
YB Soon Lip Chee, EXCO for Youth and Sports of the State of Penang said, this league competition will be able to provide exposure to players and coaches to a higher level as well as dig out new talents to be highlighted with the development of football in the State of Penang. This tournament is open to young people under the age of 14 and is limited to the participation of 24 teams only. Each team will consist of 15 people, namely 13 players and 2 officials.
He said, each registered player will receive an official T-shirt of the Penang Community Olympic Carnival 2022. The team that wins the champion place, runner-up, third place will win a trophy and a medal. He also called on football fans to support the players at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Field on the day.
