GEORGE TOWN, June 20 – A new community center was launched by Angel Community Enterprise in 211, Jalan Hutton, Georgetown 10050, Penang where homemade sellers (which consist of single parents, OKUs, women, young entrepreneurs and SMEs) could list their food or products at the centre’s cafe below. Angel Community Enterprise will support the sellers with manpower, rental and marketing.

Angel Community is now open to the public and community to purchase and support. On the top floor, the center is open to all non-governmental organizations (NGOs), associations, startups and young entrepreneurs that need a space for meetings or run programs without the need to worry about rent and the four commendable ladies are Jazz Tan, Desline Teoh, Chan Kar Yee and Kinki Tan.

Co-founder, Chan Kar Yee mentioned, “We would want to support the community, especially during this recovering period after Covid-19. Our center is at a 120 years old well preserved heritage building that could serve as a tourist attraction spot as well” The event is also attended and graced by special guest, YB Phee Boon Poh, Penang State EXCO Member for Environment and Welfare. He mentioned that, “The state will always support great initiatives like that, especially focusing on the people’s welfare and needs.”

At the launching ceremony, Tinesh Boontinathan who serves as the advisor and support to Angel Community Enterprise mentioned, “This is a good platform for the community and we are definitely leveraging on this to provide our support to the people that need our help. We could champion and assist in any issues or problems by redirecting the community to the right channels!”
