GEORGE TOWN, August 11 – IKHLAS, the Muslim-friendly line of business under Capital A (formerly AirAsia Group) is ramping up their philanthropic activities in contributing towards the wellbeing of Penangites, especially the underprivileged and the B40 group. Penang Governor, Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, during a courtesy call by the team from IKHLAS yesterday, has expressed his full support and encouragement for activities by IKHLAS in the State. 

Chief Executive Officer of IKHLAS, Ikhlas Kamarudin says, Tun Dato’ Seri Utama’s kind words of support and encouragement were very inspiring for the team to continue ramping up their community outreach programmes with religious and charitable activities involving mosques located around the state. During the visit, we expressed our readiness to be actively involved and participate in community activities, under the Governor’s patronage including in preparing and coordinating the distribution of hot meals and food baskets under the Tun Dato’ Seri Utama’s Solat Jumaat Mingguan programme to mosques around Penang,” said Ikhlas.

He added that IKHLAS is mobilising its workforce including deploying highly-experienced mutawif and mutawifah (umrah guides)  to organise a series of complimentary Umrah courses for the congregation. This  visit has definitely  opened up more opportunities for us to work closely with the Islamic community in Penang leveraging on the IKHLAS platform, a technology-based solution for community management,” he explained.
