KUALA LUMPUR, September 13 – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Iris Shah has Revoked the Titles that were Conferred by Him to Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his Wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor effective immediately said State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim in a statement. Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was awarded the First Class Membership of His Majesty the King of Selangor (S.P.M.S) with the title of Dato’ Seri in 2004 and the Second Class with the title of Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Selangor (D.P.M.S.) Dato’ in 1992.

He has been charged in the High Court on several charges involving abuse of power, breach of trust and money laundering on the funds of SRC International Sdn. Bhd. On 23 August 2022, the Federal Court upheld the conviction and sentence against him that had been previously decided by the Kuala Lumpur High Court. While Rosmah has been stripped of her “Datin Paduka Seri” title, which was conferred in 2005. However, Najib and Rosmah still carry various titles that had been bestowed on them by rulers of other states.
