KUALA LUMPUR, November 23 – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is expected to meet with Malay Rulers in a special meeting at Istana Negara, on Thursday. It is understood that His Majesty will seek the views of the Kings regarding the deadlock in the formation of the federal government. The meeting will start at 10.30am and it is expected to last at least three hours. Palace statement informed that the special meeting was important to decide the matter.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong tried to establish a unity government consisting of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) but failed so far. The Malay Rulers are expected to be briefed on the legal procedure taking into account the hung Parliament situation at the moment. The Malay Council of Rulers conference is also scheduled to be held this Monday.
