SEREMBAN, January 16 – Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN) is expected to be dissolved this May to make way for the state election (PRN). The PKR Vice President said that it was based on informal discussions with the Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers for the states involved in the matter before attending the Council of Rulers meeting during the day.

“Basically we agreed to dissolve in May… that means PRN in June or July, we don’t have time, there are a few months left, so we have to continue to prepare and plan steps to ensure our victory. After the election, there are various assumptions and views as to whether we are with Barisan Nasional (BN) or not, that will be decided in the near future. Hopefully there will be an immediate decision to arrange a strategy with BN.

We also want to give rights in terms of allocations and so on,” he told reporters after the Negeri Sembilan PKR Convention here tonight. The six states that will be involved in PRN this year are Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu. In the meantime, PKR Deputy President Rafizi Ramli said, as the Director of National Elections, he will ensure that the party can defend Negeri Sembilan’s victory in the PRN this time.

Rafizi hopes that political cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN) can be decided early so that the party can prepare for the next election. It will be one of the fields to test the form of cooperation with UMNO which I think if successfully negotiated it will be a model to strengthen the cooperation of the Unity Government at the federal level he said.

When asked if there were difficulties in cooperation between PH and BN for the PRN, Rafizi said that the two main leaders of the party in this state, namely Aminuddin and Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, are individuals who are easy to talk to and obey the party. – Named
