KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) will appoint a minister besar among the party’s leaders in two states, namely Negeri Sembilan and Selangor, if it wins the State Election (PRN) and succeeds in forming a government. Its president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said the matter had been discussed and decided at the level of the Supreme Council of the National Alliance (PN). If we can form a government, then Bersatu will govern the state.
Penang will be fine-tuned and careful, what is the situation and condition like. Some may say it is difficult to win in Penang, but it is not difficult to make it difficult to (reduce) the majority in that area,” he said on Sunday. He said this in a press conference after the Bersatu General Assembly at Menara PGRM here. In other developments, he explained that there was no change in the distribution of seats between the PN component parties ahead of the arrival of the PRN.
According to Muhyiddin, the seats held by PAS and Bersatu in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will be maintained unless there is an understanding to make a change. He said, the seat consultation committee will hold a discussion on the matter. “The principles that may be the same we can use include ‘incumbent’. Seats that are not owned by anyone except the opposition parties such as UMNO and so on, those are the seats we will negotiate. The seats we want will be decided in our discussion later, he explained.
