PETALING JAYA, March 25 – The Ministry of Transport (MOT) always prioritizes the safety of motorcyclists through discussions with the Ministry of Public Works. Its minister, Anthony Loke, said that MOT fully supports any proposal to upgrade facilities for motorcyclists, including dedicated motorcycle lanes, but the implementation is not by the Ministry of Transport but under the Ministry of Public Works.
According to him, the implementation of the special motorcycle lane project on all routes involves huge expenses coupled with existing financial constraints. But that’s not the reason we don’t want to implement such an agenda. Although we can’t do everything, we will identify which areas and districts are problematic and which have the most motorcycle accidents, he said during a question and answer session with the audience during the People’s Town Hall Program organized by Sinar Harian at Kumpulan Karangkraf here on Monday.
