
KOTA BHARU, May 13 – The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, announced that the Federal Government will be increasing allocations to Kelantan to fund development projects in the state. Speaking at the Launching Ceremony of the Construction of the First Station of the East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) in Bandar Baru Tunjong on Friday, Anwar said that the allocation will be larger than during the previous Civil Budget presentation.
“I will announce the matter tonight at the Madani Malaysia Aidilfitri Open House,” Anwar said, adding that the move is expected to help the Kelantan government keep up with other states in terms of development. The increased funding is expected to be good news for the people of Kelantan, and the projects will focus on improving facilities and infrastructure in the state.
Anwar was joined at the ceremony by Kelantan Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Yakob, Transport Minister, Loke Siew Fook, Chairman of Malaysia Rail Link Sdn. Bhd (MRL), Tan Sri Mohd. Zuki Ali, the Chief Executive Officer of MRL, Datuk Sri Darwish Abdul Razak, and the Executive Director of China Communication Construction Company Ltd (CCCC), Lui Hui.
The ECRL project is one of the key development projects in the state and is expected to benefit the people of Kelantan by improving transportation and connectivity. The increased allocation from the Federal Government will help to further boost the state’s development and bring it in line with other states in Malaysia.
