GEORGE TOWN, May 14 – Gurney Paragon Mall, one of the premier shopping destinations in Penang, recently hosted a Raya CSR program to spread joy during the festive season and give back to the community. The event, held on 11th May 2023, saw the attendance of 33 guests, including 27 children and 2 guardians from Pusat Jagaan Persekutuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam Pulau Pinang and Wisma Yatim Perempuan Islam Pulau Pinang. The program started with the guests taking some memorable photos with the Raya décor at the mall’s Atrium.
The children then made their way to TGV Cinemas to enjoy a thrilling movie experience watching the Super Mario Bros. Movie at 4:00 pm. Mr. Anand Kumar, the Cinema Manager of TGV Cinemas, accompanied the children to the movie, adding to their excitement. After the movie, the children were treated to a delicious dinner at Brown Pocket Cafe, where Puan Latifah, the partner of the cafe, mingled with them during the meal. The event came to a close with a send-off at 7:00 pm, where each guest received a goodie bag from Ms. Lee, the store manager of Jaya Grocer. Ms. Koay Koay Bee Fong.
The mall organized the Raya CSR program to provide a fun and memorable experience for children from Pusat Jagaan Persekutuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam Pulau Pinang and Wisma Yatim Perempuan Islam Pulau Pinang who may not have had the opportunity to celebrate Raya in such a way. CSR programs like this one are an essential way for businesses to engage with and support their local communities.
