GEORGE TOWN, June 6 – The LovePENANG Youth Night Concert, a highly anticipated event organized by the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), dazzled audiences at Dewan Sri Pinang on June 3, 2023. The esteemed gathering saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Tuan Yang Terutama Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak, Tuan Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, and YB Soon Lip Chee, Penang State EXCO for Youth and Sports.

The concert showcased the talents of eight remarkable performers, captivating the audience throughout the evening. The LovePENANG Youth Night Concert is a significant component of PYDC’s “Youth With Rhythm” (YWR) initiative. Through the YWR initiative, PYDC has been organizing various programs to provide young individuals with opportunities to showcase their skills, connect with industry professionals, and explore their talents in diverse art forms such as singing, drama, magic shows, stand-up comedy, and more.

This special concert served as a platform for talented youth performers associated with the YWR initiative to shine in the state of Penang and display their exceptional abilities. During his speech, YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, expressed his commitment to holistic development in alignment with the LovePENANG campaign and the Penang2030 vision – “A Family-focused Green and Smart State That Inspires The Nation.  He commended the vibrant energy and dedication exhibited by the young talents, stating

“As Chief Minister of Penang, I am elated and proud to witness our young talent pool, brimming with enthusiasm and spirit, giving their best for tonight’s performances. YB Soon Lip Chee, Penang State EXCO for Youth and Sports, also emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting local youth and their talents, stating that the LovePENANG Youth Night Concert symbolized the government’s dedication to nurturing the talents of Penang’s dynamic and culturally rich community.”

The LovePENANG Youth Night Concert featured captivating performances by artists from PYDC’s YWR platform. The lineup included The Penang Youth Orchestra, Julian Lee, Wak Long Performance Art, Temple of Fine Arts Penang, D’vol Dance Theatre, Cik Yoe, Marcus and Kabilan. Each performer enthralled the audience with their unique skills and showcased the vibrant artistic landscape of Penang. The concert served as a promising beginning for future initiatives aimed at empowering and supporting the youth of Penang.
