KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 – During the Prime Minister’s Special Meeting with Cabinet Members and Ministry Chief Secretaries on the Half Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan (KSP RMK12) in Putrajaya on Monday, consensus was reached among all parties to collaborate and accelerate the implementation of reforms and planned economic initiatives. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, emphasized the need for KSP RMK12 to address the people’s concerns amidst the ongoing socio-economic changes and challenges.
“To achieve this, inputs from all ministries will be taken into consideration in formulating the KSP RMK12. It is crucial for all ministries to demonstrate greater seriousness and adopt proactive, aggressive, and bold approaches in resolving policy implementation issues, particularly those impacting the well-being of our citizens in accordance with existing legislation,” he stated in a Facebook post on Monday. Anwar further explained that the special meeting aimed to discuss the new direction (2023-2025) that should be outlined in the KSP RMK12.
This plan is instrumental in ensuring the country’s economy remains robust and aligned with the vision of achieving Madani Malaysia. “The KSP RMK12 represents a fundamental document that charts the course of our socioeconomic development. It is designed to strike a balance between the realms of thought, spirituality, and materiality, grounded in core values,” he added. The collaborative efforts among ministries and the emphasis on addressing the people’s needs underscore the government’s commitment to driving positive changes and advancing Malaysia’s economic progress.
