KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 – Pos Malaysia Berhad (“Pos Malaysia” or “the Group”), the leading post and parcel service provider in Malaysia, has announced a strategic partnership with Yinson GreenTech (“YGT”) for the introduction of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. These stations are powered by chargEV, the largest EV charging network and charge point operator in the country. EV owners can now access charging stations from 7 am to 11 pm at six Pos Malaysia Post Offices located in Shah Alam, Ipoh, Melaka, Seremban, Alor Setar, and Johor Bahru.
Pos Malaysia’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions and expanding access to clean energy sources is evident through the installation of these EV chargers. The rollout will be carried out in phases, with plans to extend the charging infrastructure to additional Post Offices, ensuring convenient access for EV owners and supporting the growing number of electric vehicles in Malaysia. Each charging station is equipped with a DC charger featuring two CCS2-type nozzles, allowing for fast charging with 40kW power.
Charging an EV up to 80% capacity will take approximately 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the EV model. The chargEV chargers are designed to deliver an optimal charging experience, ensuring efficient and reliable performance for Pos Malaysia EV users. In line with these efforts and the recent net-zero goals, Pos Malaysia has also deployed over 40 e-Bikes for mail and parcel delivery across the Klang Valley, operating without carbon emissions. By the end of 2023, Pos Malaysia aims to have a fleet comprising more than 200 e-Bikes and 140 e-Vans, covering various locations in Peninsular Malaysia.

Through our collaboration with esteemed partner Yinson, we can drive positive change in the realm of sustainable transportation. By offering EV charging stations at our Post Offices, we aim to reduce range anxiety for EV users while showcasing our unwavering commitment to lowering carbon emissions and advancing a greener future for Malaysia. This initiative aligns perfectly with our broader sustainability initiatives and net-zero goals.”
Mr. Eirik Barclay, Chief Executive Officer of Yinson GreenTech, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “As part of our commitment to help businesses transition towards sustainability, we are delighted to collaborate with Pos Malaysia in the rollout of our chargEV stations at these selected locations. This expansion not only enhances our comprehensive charging network, providing a convenient and seamless experience for EV users in their daily lives but also supports Pos Malaysia in reducing their carbon footprint. This marks their first step in contributing to an accelerated net-zero future.”
In addition to facilitating EV charging, this initiative aims to encourage EV users to explore the diverse range of offerings available at Pos Malaysia’s outlets. Leveraging their extensive network of over 600 locations and millions of square feet of retail and outdoor space, Pos Malaysia has partnered with renowned brands such as Cafe Mesra, ZUS Coffee, Photobook, and chargEV to introduce innovative solutions that enhance customer experience. Special promotions tailored for EV drivers will be offered at selected outlets during the charging process.
