KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 – The Malaysian Administration and Management Planning Modernization Unit (MAMPU), under the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM), hosted the prestigious Malaysian Government Performance Index (MyGPI) 2022 Rating Certificate Presentation Ceremony. The event recognized the exceptional performance of ministries, central agencies, and major departments (APJU) in their commitment to organizational management and digitalization of services, thereby driving public sector reform and enhancing governance.
The ceremony took place at Dewan Sri Baiduri, INTAN Bukit Kiara and was graced by YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Zuki bin Ali, Chief Secretary to the State. The MyGPI program serves as an evaluation platform for public sector agencies, focusing on two crucial dimensions: organizational management and digitalization of services. By promoting good governance, this program contributes to elevating Malaysia’s global standing through the efficient delivery of public services to both citizens and the business community.
MAMPU collaborates strategically with key partners, including the Public Service Department (JPA), Implementation Coordination Unit (UPP), Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), National Audit Department (JAN), Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), and Bureau of Public Complaints (BPA). During the ceremony, MyGPI Rating Certificates were presented to 26 ministries, five central agencies, major departments, and the Federal Territories Department (formerly known as the Ministry of Federal Territories).
Notably, four agencies—the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Local Government Development, and the Department of Public Works—achieved the prestigious Platinum category, attaining a remarkable score of 90 percent and above, the highest rating category. The implementation of the MyGPI program aims to encourage public sector agencies to continuously enhance their efforts in delivering public services that meet the expectations of stakeholders, including the people, the business community, and top management.
It is an opportunity for agencies to further improve their service quality and strengthen their commitment to serving the public efficiently. The recognition received through the MyGPI program serves as a catalyst for continuous improvement, motivating public sector agencies to strive for excellence in their operations and service delivery. By embracing good governance practices and digital transformation, these agencies can better meet the needs and expectations of the diverse stakeholders they serve.
The Malaysian Government expresses its appreciation to all participating ministries, central agencies, and major departments for their dedication and achievements in the MyGPI program. The commitment demonstrated by these entities contributes significantly to the ongoing reform efforts in the public sector and ultimately benefits the nation as a whole. The government remains committed to supporting and facilitating the continuous improvement of public services, ensuring they remain effective, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the people and the business community.
