BANGKOK, July 14 – AIS Aunjai Cyber, with its mission to raise awareness about online dangers and promote digital safety, has partnered with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) to introduce the pioneering Thailand Cyber Wellness Index. This index aims to measure the digital knowledge, abilities, and skills of different segments of the population, fostering intelligence and competence among digital citizens.
AIS CEO, Somchai Lertsutiwong, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to combat cyber threats over the past four years. Drawing from this experience, AIS developed the Thailand Cyber Wellness Index to provide targeted tools and knowledge for each segment of Thai society, addressing their specific needs. Working closely with KMUTT and a panel of experts from technology, health, mass communication, education, and evaluation fields, AIS designed a comprehensive framework for the study.
The survey encompassed diverse age groups and occupational categories, gathering data from all provinces in Thailand, with a sample size of 21,862 participants. The collected information was meticulously processed and analyzed to generate the Thailand Cyber Wellness Index. The survey results indicated that overall cyber wellness among Thai people was at a “basic” level, with 44.04% falling under the “must improve” category.
These findings highlight the need to enhance digital literacy and understanding among the population. AIS aims to collaborate with the government and private sector within the network of cybersecurity to utilize this index effectively. As a valuable resource for the Thai public, the Thailand Cyber Wellness Index serves as a compass guiding the development of digital skills in a safe, responsible, efficient, and sustainable manner for the future.
By launching the Thailand Cyber Wellness Index, AIS and KMUTT are taking a significant step forward in promoting a digitally empowered society, equipping individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the online world securely and confidently.
