KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 – Aqara, a leading provider of smart home products, has officially launched in Malaysia, partnering with Hello Smart Sdn Bhd, its authorized distributor and service partner in the country. The move aims to capitalize on the growing demand for intelligent living solutions and expand Aqara’s market presence in Malaysia. According to projections, the sales of smart home devices in Malaysia are expected to more-than-double to RM2.7 billion by 2027.
Aqara’s Global Sales Manager, Harry Zhang, expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting the strong demand for Aqara’s smart home solutions in Malaysia. He mentioned the remarkable annual sales growth of 100% since Aqara entered the Malaysian market in 2019. Currently, Malaysia’s smart home market is still in its early stages of growth, with total smart home device sales estimated at US$268.2 million (RM1.25 billion) in 2022, according to Statista. However, the penetration rate of smart home devices is expected to nearly double by 2027, reaching 26.0%, as market awareness increases, device costs decrease, and technology capabilities improve. This anticipated higher penetration rate is projected to drive smart home device sales to more-than-double to US$581.70 million (RM2.71 billion) in 2027.
