GEORGE TOWN, July 15 – Velvet Signature Sdn. Bhd. is set to host an exciting two-in-one event, George Town Fashion Week 2023 and Model Search Competition, known as George Town Fashion Models, Junior Model International, Mr. & Miss Teen Super Globe 2023 (Malaysia Selection). The event will take place at Gurney Plaza, Penang from July 14th to 16th, 2023. Presented by George Town Fashion Week 2023 and endorsed by the Penang State Tourism Development and Culture (PETAC), with the support of Gurney Plaza Mall.
This event aims to encourage and promote young and talented local fashion designers in the industry. This year’s George Town Fashion Week will feature 20 local designers and three designers from Vietnam. Among the local designers participating are Trevor Woo, Noor Azlina, Aden Yong, Pa Ya Hui, Randy Goh & Equator College. The Vietnamese designers include Hao Truong, Rita Dzung, and Blanchi Trinh Category. Models from Vietnam, such as Lung Nguyen, Shinsa, Anh Nguyet, Phuong Ann, Man Nhi, and Bao Anh, will also be showcasing their talent on the runway.
The highlight of the event is the TFW Model Search Competition, where the top three winners in the Adult Male and Female categories will be selected. The winners in each category will become the TFW Model Ambassadors 2023 and brand ambassadors. In addition, 40 finalists in the Kids & Teen Category will compete for the Junior Model International Mr. & Miss Teen Super Globe 2023 (Malaysia selection). The winner will have the opportunity to represent Malaysia in the Junior Model International & Mr. & Miss Teen Super Globe 2023 (Malaysia selection) final in Thailand from September 20th to 24th, 2023.
The kids’ category contestants will be dressed in JIBI AND MIKA Kids Apparel by Aliza Rezki, while the teen category contestants will wear Annabelle Tan Apparel. The adult category contestants will showcase the creations of Sawang by Zack L & S Signature Apparel. George Town Fashion Week 2023 & Model Search Competition promises to be a platform for local designers and models to showcase their talent and creativity. This event not only celebrates the fashion industry but also contributes to the growth and recognition of Penang as a fashion hub.
