SELANGOR, July 16 – Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) has once again been honored with the prestigious Frost & Sullivan Company of the Year Award for 2023, marking the third consecutive year of recognition for the hospital’s exceptional commitment to patient care. The award is a testament to SJMC’s continuous efforts to adopt innovative clinical and operational management solutions and leverage digital technology to enhance efficiency across its operations, solidifying its position as a leading healthcare provider in the Malaysian private healthcare industry.

One of SJMC’s standout areas of expertise is its Cancer & Radiosurgery Centre, which has gained a strong reputation in regional cancer care since its establishment in 2002. Through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, the center offers comprehensive services for both adult and pediatric cancer patients. SJMC is among the first hospitals in Malaysia to regularly measure the performance of its cancer care services, which have been proven to be comparable to leading centers in developed countries. The hospital’s patient outcomes, particularly for breast cancer and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, have shown remarkable success rates of 80 to 90% in curing lymphoblastic leukemia.

The medical teams at SJMC are renowned for their expertise and are supported by state-of-the-art medical technologies. SJMC introduced the Radixact X9 with Synchrony, an advanced system that combines intensity-modulated radiation therapy and image-guided scanning, providing precise and effective tumor destruction and reduction. In the field of nuclear medicine, SJMC is equipped with the world’s first digital PET/CT platform, the Discovery MI Gen2, which enables optimal disease detection, treatment planning, and assessment.

Bhaskar Vittal, Industry Principal of Healthcare at Frost & Sullivan, commended SJMC for its philanthropic efforts in the community, including mammography and HPV screening programs aimed at early detection of breast and cervical cancer. The hospital’s participation in the Global Surgery Initiative, a public-private partnership with the Ministry of Health Malaysia and the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists (MSA), further demonstrates its commitment to providing equitable access to safe and affordable surgical and anesthesia care.

SJMC’s operational efficiency and commitment to positive patient experiences are enhanced by its hospital management dashboard and porter management system. It was also the first hospital in Malaysia to implement a complete electronic medical record system in 2016, giving it a competitive edge. During the COVID-19 pandemic, SJMC’s healthcare workforce remained dedicated to serving patients while supporting the Ministry of Health Malaysia through private-public partnerships to alleviate the burden on public healthcare.

The hospital’s commitment to excellence is further reflected in its numerous accreditations. SJMC has received international accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI) and the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH). These prestigious accreditations affirm the hospital’s commitment to high-quality care, patient safety, evidence-based practices, and compliance with stringent standards.

Bryan Lin, Chief Executive Officer of SJMC, expressed his pride and gratitude upon receiving the Company of the Year Award for the third time. He credited the hospital’s dedicated staff, collaborative spirit, and strong clinical research for their contributions to providing the best possible patient care.

Frost & Sullivan’s Company of the Year Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate excellence in growth strategy, implementation, innovation, customer value, and market penetration. This achievement reinforces SJMC’s position as a leading healthcare provider and showcases its outstanding performance in delivering superior patient outcomes and experiences.
