KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 – CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad (“CIMB” or “The Bank”) have taken a step towards enhancing customer convenience by introducing Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri’s (LHDN) new integrated e-billing feature within its CIMB BizChannel and CIMB Clicks platforms. As the first bank in the market to implement this service, CIMB aims to make tax payments seamless and hassle-free for business customers by enabling them to pay taxes directly through the bank’s online platforms.

The newly integrated e-billing feature streamlines the tax payment process. Customers need to obtain a Bill Number through LHDN’s MyTax service portal and then proceed to CIMB BizChannel or CIMB Clicks. Once logged in, they can navigate to the bill payment section, select ‘LHDN e-Billing’ as the biller, and enter the Bill Number. The customer’s tax details will be automatically populated, and they can proceed to make the payment directly from their account. The integration ensures that each tax payment transaction will have a unique number for LHDN’s reference, enhancing accuracy and transparency.

The direct linkage with LHDN also provides secure payment validation, ensuring a safe and reliable transaction process. Ahmad Shazli Kamarulzaman, Deputy CEO of Group Commercial Banking at CIMB Group, expressed his delight in collaborating with LHDN to introduce this e-billing feature, providing businesses, including corporates and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with a simplified and efficient tax payment method.

He reaffirmed CIMB’s commitment to delivering customer-centric solutions that cater to businesses’ evolving needs, all while providing a secure and seamless banking experience.Marsidi Bin Zelika, Director of Revenue Collection Department at Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia, also commended the successful implementation of this initiative. He expressed the belief that the e-billing feature will bring significant benefits to LHDN and offer the best payment experience to all Malaysian taxpayers.

The new e-billing feature complements other tax payment methods available via CIMB, including FPX and online credit card payments via the MyTax portal, as well as transactions at CIMB’s ATMs and branches nationwide. CIMB BizChannel, the bank’s platform for business clients, allows them to manage their accounts, payments, and finances conveniently anytime, anywhere. In 2022, CIMB BizChannel witnessed a 36% increase in transaction volume and an 11% growth in users year-on-year (YoY).

With the introduction of LHDN’s e-billing feature, CIMB continues to uphold its dedication to innovation and customer-centric solutions for the benefit of its valued customers.
