
KUALA LUMPUR, August 5 – The much-anticipated Kedah Fashion Week 2023 (KFW) has kicked off with a spectacular display of diverse and innovative South-East Asian collections. Themed “Big Bang,” this year’s event brings together 15 renowned and emerging designers, showcasing their captivating creations from August 4 to August 6 at Aman Central in Alor Setar, Kedah. Belleview Group director Grace Ho expressed her excitement about the event, stating that attendees can expect a captivating lineup of fashion shows from designers, labels, and lifestyle brands.
With the theme “Big Bang,” KFW 2023 promises to be an explosion of creativity and style, attracting fashion enthusiasts from across the northern region. Aman Central, the chosen venue for this year’s event, proved to be the ideal setting, having experienced remarkable growth and recovery, reaching 95% of its 2019 shopper count. The Belleview Group, together with KFW since its inception in 2016, has been committed to promoting diversity and creating job opportunities for Malaysians in the fashion industry.
Fashion serves as a powerful form of self-expression, and KFW aims to cater to every stylistic preference and taste. Datin Winnie Loo, founder of A Cut Above Group, expressed her anticipation for KFW 2023, where she expects to witness a melting pot of different styles by new designers. As the official fashion partner, Collab Store set the stage for the festivities by collaborating with Kedahan designers Ikmal Mukmin of Gens Great Idea and Jeremy Lim of YT Label. The star-studded collaborations ignited the excitement for the rest of the event.
The lineup for KFW 2023 is a dazzling array of talent, with designers like Asyraf Arrif, Ezuwan Ismail, Anuar Faizal, Teddie Alrashed for Bleu Natar, and Oscar Lee for Outdwell gracing the runway. Local fashion veterans, including ByTwoo, Daniel Zharif, Dee Roslan, Salleh Hamid, Amaze, Naemah Khuntum, Hasfitri Yusof, Wan&Mary, and Seth&Luna, added their signature touch of creativity to the event. KFW 2023 also transcended borders, with Thai designer Kanapot Aunsorn and Yadanar from Myanmar showcasing their unique designs.
Adding more glamour to the event, Aman Central tenants Bonia, HLA, New Era, Tomei, Icahfa, D’yana, Elrah Exclusive, and LokalTeez took the stage, presenting their latest collections, making it a fashion extravaganza that brings together the best of South-East Asian fashion and retail.
