SUBANG, August 17 – Datuk Seri Johari Harun, the State Exco for Local Government, Housing, Environment, and Green Technology of Pahang, and also the Member of the State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Pelangai, has been confirmed as one of the victims in the aircraft tragedy involving a private jet crash in Elmina, Shah Alam. Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, stated that the victims were identified to be on board the aircraft along with five other passengers and two crew members.

However, he mentioned that the identities are based on the aircraft’s ‘general declaration’ documents, and the official confirmation of the victims’ identities would be provided after the forensic investigation. “The other victims who have been identified are Khairil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki, and Idris Abdol Talib @Ramali. The identities of the two crew members, who were also pilots, have been confirmed as Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim.

“This list of names is based on flight documents, and the official confirmation of the victims’ identities will be announced after the post-mortem conducted at the Hospital Ampuan Rahimah, Klang,” he said during a press conference on Thursday. At the same time, he mentioned that the identities of the public victims of the tragedy have not yet been confirmed. “The identities of the public victims will be confirmed by the police,” he said. At least 10 victims have been confirmed to have perished in the aircraft tragedy involving the crash of a private jet near a residential area in Elmina, Section U16, Shah Alam.

The victims include eight passengers and crew members of the aircraft, along with two members of the public who were coincidentally present at the accident site – a motorcyclist and a car driver. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed that they did not receive any distress calls or ‘Mayday’ signals. The aircraft took off from Langkawi International Airport at 2:08 pm and was granted permission to land at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. However, it crashed two minutes before landing.
