
GEORGE TOWN, September 12 – Readings@Tanjong, the beloved literary and cultural event, is set to make a comeback with “NEGARA KITA” on September 16, 2023, starting at 6 pm. The event will take place at the Penang Harmony Centre, HARMONICO, and is part of the inaugural Penang Harmony Celebration, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Malaysia Day. This event promises a captivating blend of poetry and music performances, with creative works inspired by the theme “Harmony In Diversity.” The lineup of talented poets includes Dato’ Seri Dr. Anwar Fazal, Lucille Dass, Regina Ibrahim, Yee Heng Yeh, and Kasvini Muniandy.
Readings@Tanjong: Negara Kita serves as a moment to reflect on concepts like belonging, togetherness, unity, and peace. It’s an opportunity to contemplate what it truly means to be Malaysian and to reside in this diverse and culturally rich country we all call home. As part of the celebration, attendees are encouraged to don their best traditional attire, adding a vibrant and cultural dimension to the event.
