KUALA LUMPUR, September 13 – The inaugural Cyber Digital Services Defence & Security Asia (CyberDSA) 2023 kicked off today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, graced by the presence of the Minister of Communications and Digital, YB Fahmi Fadzil. Under the theme “Advancing Digitalisation and Security Through Collaboration,” this three-day expo, taking place from August 15 to 17, aims to foster networking, idea exchange, and alliances to drive the nation toward a more secure digital future.
Organized by Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn. Bhd., with substantial support from CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Malaysian Armed Forces through Defence Cyber and Electromagnetic Division, CyberDSA showcases state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies and innovations. With over 100 exhibitors demonstrating their expertise, the event encompasses keynote addresses, talks, roundtable discussions, and exhibits spanning topics such as cyber defense, network security, big data, cloud computing solutions, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology.
YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications and Digital, emphasized, “The cybersecurity landscape has witnessed increasingly sophisticated threats, and it’s clear that no single entity or state can tackle this challenge alone. The theme of ‘Advancing Digitalisation & Security Through Collaboration’ is fitting, as we must unite governments, businesses, academia, and civil society to leverage collective intelligence, resources, and expertise to strengthen our defenses and respond effectively to cyber incidents.”
Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman of Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn Bhd, stated, “We are immensely proud to present the inaugural Cyber Digital Services Defence & Security Asia (CyberDSA) 2023. Our vision is to create a transformative platform that fosters collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange among cybersecurity experts, decision-makers, and industry leaders. Through CyberDSA, we aim to fortify the cybersecurity landscape, paving the way for a more secure digital future.”
Running parallel to CyberDSA 2023 are two significant events—Siber Siaga and CSM-ACE. The annual CyberSecurity Malaysia Awards, organized by CyberSecurity Malaysia, provides a networking platform while recognizing contributions in the field. Siber Siaga, representing the Defence Cyber & Electromagnetic Division, showcases Malaysia’s journey toward cyber sovereignty through collaboration between the Malaysia Armed Forces (ATM), industry players, universities, cyber security practitioners, and the public.
CyberDSA 2023 is a global event, hosting discussions involving over 100 international cybersecurity leaders and delegates. Prominent events include the INTERPOL Digital Forensics Expert Group (DFEG) meeting and the ASEAN CYBER Defence Network committee roundtable, fostering collaboration in digital forensics. General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin (Retired), Chairman of CyberSecurity Malaysia, stressed, “Rising cyber threats pose significant risks to valuable information and national security. CyberDSA’s primary goal is to unite decision-makers from governments and private sectors, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing to create a more secure digital landscape.”
CyberDSA 2023 represents a pivotal step toward fortifying cybersecurity and securing the digital future. The expo highlights crucial topics such as “Digital Transformation – Safely Full Speed Ahead” and “Winning in the Face of Financial Cybercrime.” Attendees can engage in Technical Labs, offering hands-on training on various topics. The event also features a Hackathon Competition and a Special Opening Ceremony by Siber Siaga, further amplifying the collaborative spirit of CyberDSA 2023.
