KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 – Merdeka 118 tower has made history by becoming the first mega-tall building in Malaysia to receive the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification. The LEED Platinum certification, awarded under the LEED v2009 Core & Shell rating system, signifies the tower’s commitment to the highest standards of sustainability in its design, construction, and operation. Owned and developed by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad (PNBMV), a subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad, Merdeka 118 stands as a monumental achievement in architectural excellence.

Tengku Dato’ Ab. Aziz Tengku Mahmud, CEO of PNBMV, expressed pride in this milestone, highlighting Merdeka 118’s journey toward becoming Malaysia’s first triple-green platinum-rated mega-tall building. The tower’s pursuit of additional certifications from Green Real Estate (GreenRE), Green Building Index (GBI), and the International WELL Building Institute Asia Pacific underscores its commitment to sustainability and the well-being of its occupants and the wider community.
