KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 — Malaysian businesses have potential export opportunities worth RM2.4 billion from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, signaling promising prospects in Central Asia. This substantial figure highlights the growing confidence of Central Asian business communities in Malaysia as a strategic trade and investment partner, according to Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz.

Tengku Zafrul assured that Miti will expedite these export commitments to bolster Malaysia’s economic growth. He emphasized expanding business opportunities through the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation’s (Matrade) offices in Almaty and Tashkent, aiming to turn these prospects into tangible commercial opportunities for Malaysian SMEs and job creation. Additionally, Malaysia and Uzbekistan agreed to reactivate the Joint Trade Committee (JTC) Meeting to strengthen trade and investment ties.
