KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 The anticipated official visit of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to China is poised to yield significant benefits for Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, according to Mohammad Rizan Hassan, the secretary-general of the National Association of Skilled Workers (PKPB).

Ahmad Zahid, who also chairs the National TVET Council, aims to bolster skills training by facilitating the exchange of TVET talent between Malaysia and China through initiatives like the Malaysia-China Institute (MCI). With over 850 individuals currently undergoing training in various TVET disciplines in China, this visit underscores the commitment to enhancing skills development in both nations.

Mohammad Rizan highlighted the untapped potential for TVET cooperation between Malaysia and China, particularly in meeting the rising demand for skilled workers in critical sectors such as manufacturing and technology. He emphasized the importance of aligning TVET programs with industry needs to bridge the skills gap and foster economic growth, cultural understanding, and global collaboration.
