LABUAN, May 19 – Two giant-sized 1Malaysia logos have been taken down from the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Pasar Sentral Labuan, 10 days after the formation of the Pakatan Harapan federal government. The work to take down each of the 11.5 metres high and 5.7 metres wide logo started early today and completed at 2 pm.

Labuan Corporation chief executive officer Azhar Ahmad said it was in line with the directives issued by the National Strategy Unit of the Finance Ministry dated May 14, which also involved the picture of the former prime minister, former mentri besar and former chief minister at all UTC throughout the country.

The 1Malaysia concept was launched in 2009 by the then prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak. The Labuan Department of Information had also taken down six billboards related to 1Malaysia throughout the federal territory since last week. — Bernama
