PUTRAJAYA, May 2 – Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim admitted the existence of a plot to topple his government. However, he said, the effort was considered to have no solid foundation. The conspiracy does exist, but there is no basis. We focus on work. If there is no conspiracy, what is he doing? This is him doing his job, every month he has his strategy. So God willing as far as we monitor, the situation is quite strong, he said.

He told reporters when met after officiating the 2023 Labor Day Celebration at the Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC) here on Sunday. There is reported that 17 Barisan Nasional (BN) members of Parliament and the People’s Justice Party (PKR) are about to jump parties to join Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the near future. The rumors emerged at a time when all parties were devising various strategies to face the state elections (PRN) in six states scheduled for July.

Commenting further, Anwar said that although various efforts are being drawn up by the opposition, the efforts are seen as difficult due to the solid support given by all parties in the government.
“What is important is PH, BN, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) including others such as Parti Warisan (Warisan), these four have a clear commitment (to the government). So, (we) focus our work (on the people at this time), he said.
