SINGAPORE, June 27 – The Flexi Group, a leading flexible workspace provider in the APAC region, has announced a substantial expansion in both Singapore and Australia, effectively doubling its number of locations through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. The company, resulting from the merger of three prominent brands – the Hive, The Cluster, and Common Ground – has solidified its position as a key player in the industry, now offering four flexible workspace solutions in each destination.

With a unified presence in 11 cities and 8 countries, including Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam, The Flexi Group currently boasts an impressive portfolio of 43 locations. In Singapore, the acquisition of two former Found8 coworking spaces resulted in the establishment of the Hive North Bridge Road and the Hive Tanjong Pagar, complementing the existing Hive Carpenter and Hive Lavender spaces.

In Australia, The Flexi Group’s subsidiary, the Hive Australia, has made significant strides in expanding its presence. Through a partnership agreement with Hirsch & Faigen, the Hive became the anchor tenant in a newly built $70 million office building in Melbourne’s East. Additionally, the company signed a partnership agreement to occupy the upper levels of the historic Milton House on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda. The forthcoming Hive Abbotsford and Hive Milton House locations, set to open in mid-2023, will join the existing Hive Collingwood and Cluster CBD spaces in Melbourne.

Setting itself apart from other flexible workspace operators, The Flexi Group has adopted an asset-light approach to its real estate ventures. Rather than leasing office space, the company focuses on joint ventures with landlords, offering increased flexibility to tenants while alleviating potential financial burdens. By collaborating with The Flexi Group, landlords can provide tenants with access to events, agile work solutions, and bookable meeting and event spaces, enhancing building engagement.

The multi-brand strategy employed by The Flexi Group is a unique approach in the industry, enabling the company to partner with landlords across various asset classes and cater to different demographic preferences in terms of pricing, building features, location, and office size. This strategic approach positions each brand for global growth.

Chris Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of The Flexi Group, expressed optimism about the future of flexible working and the demand for hybrid work models in Australia and Singapore. Despite economic challenges, the company is confident in its ability to expand organically and through acquisitions, capitalizing on the growing market in the region.

As The Flexi Group continues to redefine the flexible workspace landscape, its expanded footprint in Singapore and Australia will provide professionals with innovative and adaptable solutions to support their evolving work needs in the era of hybrid work.
