SEBRANG PERAI, March 9 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the long-awaited Hospital Seberang Jaya (HSJ) upgrading project, initiated in 2016, is anticipated to be finalized by the end of this year. Despite encountering delays, the project is now progressing towards completion, with Anwar allocating RM1 million for urgent equipment and facility needs, including ventilator machines, water tanks, ultrasound equipment, and a lactation room.

During his visit to HSJ, Anwar expressed his commitment to addressing the hospital’s pressing requirements and ensuring its readiness to serve the community effectively. Dr. Saiful Azlan Sharif, the director of HSJ, conveyed gratitude for Anwar’s support and highlighted that the allocated funds would significantly contribute to upgrading essential infrastructure and acquiring necessary medical equipment. Additionally, Dr. Saiful provided updates on the construction progress of the new block, indicating a projected completion date by the end of the year, marking a significant milestone for the hospital’s expansion and enhancement of healthcare services in Seberang Jaya.
