KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his confidence today in the swift expansion and progress of Malaysia’s hydrogen fuel ecosystem, citing notable advancements in research and studies within the sector. In a recent Facebook post, Anwar emphasized his belief in hydrogen technology’s potential to flourish in the open market as a viable alternative fuel option for consumers. Anwar shared his firsthand encounter with a hydrogen refuelling demonstration for a hydrogen-powered vehicle in Putrajaya.

Where he noted the remarkable quietness of hydrogen-powered vehicles compared to their petrol counterparts. Accompanied by Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Chang Lih Kang, Anwar embarked on a journey in a hydrogen fuel cell car, specifically the Toyota Mirai, from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation to the Perdana Putra building earlier in the day. The introduction of the Toyota Mirai, the first hydrogen fuel cell sedan in the peninsula, signifies a significant stride towards integrating sustainable fuel solutions into Malaysia’s automotive landscape.
